About Master Zhang

Master Zhang began his martial arts training at the age of 11

He received professional instruction at the most world-renowned Shaolin Tagou Wushu School near the Shaolin Temple and later with the Henan Provincial Professional Tai Chi Team. Henan, known as the birthplace of both Shaolin Kung Fu and Tai Chi, provided Master Zhang with direct access to these authentic lineages, which he has mastered in both form and spirit.

International Recognition

He is a decorated martial artist, having won multiple national and international championships in Shaolin Quan, Tai Chi, and various weapon categories. Due to his outstanding achievements, he was selected to join the Chinese National Wushu Team and represented China on numerous cultural exchange tours to countries including the UK, Ireland, Russia, New Zealand, Italy, Sweden, and Iceland—performing martial arts and promoting traditional Chinese culture on the world stage.

Teaching & Publications

Master Zhang holds a master’s degree in education and has served as a Wushu coach at both the Songshan Shaolin Wushu College and Henan University of Chinese Medicine. He has published two martial arts books, systematically sharing his extensive teaching and practical experience. Under his leadership, students have won numerous titles at provincial and national college Wushu competitions. Recognized for his exceptional teaching, he was appointed by the Chinese Ministry of Education to teach at the University of Arizona, where he also collaborated with renowned public health researchers on Tai Chi programs designed to improve wellness among people with chronic conditions.

Impact in the US

In the United States, Master Zhang has coached students to championship titles at the Pan-American Wushu Championships and the World Tai Chi Championships.
